Instructional Solution Proposal
“Equipping Tools for Nursing Instructors to Support English Language Learner Students in the Classroom”
Final project deliverable for EPOL 472: Instructional and Training System Design, Team 7.
This document describes a proposed instructional solution for “Rock Valley College” a two-year college whose Nursing program has a high number of English Language Learner students with lower than anticipated academic performance. The design document proposes 4 instructional modules for Nursing instructors at the college, training them to use best educational and cultural practices to support better outcomes for ELL students. To complete the project, my team conducted a comprehensive analysis of the instructional needs and capacity of the college, the target learners (Nursing instructors) and any skill gaps that may exist. Then we conducted individual task and learning goal analyses, and designed an instructional solution for our individual learning goals. I was responsible for Module 3, identified in purple in the document.

“Building Rapport With Rock Valley College ELL Students”
Final project deliverable for EPOL 472: Instructional and Training System Design, Team 7.
In addition to the Instructional Solution Proposal, my EPOL 472 final project included a 20 minute self-directed e-learning module created with Adobe Captivate, and an outline for a second module, developed as an in-person facilitated session.
